Huawei Honor 7: Dual SIM or Single SIM?
Available in several colors, but mainly in silver and black: The Honor 7 test shows how much the middle class smartphone from Huawei really lies.
A total of three technically different variants will be available, which differ in the number of SIM card slots, and by the memory size. In addition, you can appear in three colors - silver, gray, gold - choose. Before it comes to the first test, here all the basic data and a first estimate.
Of the three different versions are two dual SIM phones . And once with 16GB and even 64GB.There are also a mono-SIM version, but which then has only the small amount of ROM (16 GB).
That Huawei currently offers the dual SIM version with a larger storage capacity, is more necessity than a particularly accommodating: One can namely insert a second SIM card or microSD only either - for both the same slot is provided. It is therefore understandable that it has received a higher possible internal memory to the range for the dual SIM users.
5.2 inch full HD display
Huawei has chosen the new model of Honor-series for a display with 5.2-inch screen. That puts it between Samsung Galaxy S6 (test) and LG G4 dual SIM (Test). Also brand internally there is a compromise: between the predecessor Honor 6 (5.0 inches) and the Honor 6 Plus (5.5 inches).
The image resolution is unchanged at 1920 x 1080 pixels and thus please Full HD. Significantly fewer pixels so when compared to the two just mentioned Quad HD Super Phones from Samsung and LG. Whether this will be an optical disadvantage must be in the test, because with at least 423 ppi is the resolution is still well above the limit of about 300ppi, from which the human eye can not detect more pixels stages.Compared then color brilliance, viewing angles and different rather play a greater role.
Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1
No surprise, but currently standard for better models: Huawei installed the Google Android operating system product in this generation Lollipop, but does not decide for the latest version 5.1, but provides the very similar variant of 5.0. Perhaps a saving measure or the development time owed, because 5.1 is officially only a few weeks ago.
The Honor 7 dual SIM has a fingerprint sensor of the camera.
As usual Android is however not pure partly filled with Huawei, but for years now extended with the in-house user interface Emotion UI. This "UI" (User Interface) is Huawei "Emotion" and comes in the case of Honor 7 in the current version Emotion UI 3.1.
Operation: Fingerprint Scanner
A special feature relates to the unlocking. Here Huawei is similar to already as Apple on a fingerprint sensor. He is, however, not like the iPhone connected directly to the Home button, but is back below the camera lens.
If we identify themselves on this sensor as the legitimate user, you can not only unlock the phone, but it can also be functions such as payments authorize it.
Performance: 2.2 GHz Octa-Core, 3GB RAM
Although the Honor series acts as an inexpensive secondary line, provides the new 7 some great performance.
The CPU does not come from the top dogs Qualcomm or Mediatek, but is a Kirin models HiSilicone, a subsidiary of the mobile phone manufacturer itself. The 8-core processor consists of two quad-core CPUs, one of which is at 2.2 gigahertz and the other is clocked at 1.5 GHz.In addition, a graphic coprocessor is installed, so that even with processor-intensive games a high performance is possible. But that must be clarified in detail a Huawei Honor 7 test.
The very good 3GB have not changed compared to its predecessor. For all types of files are either 16 or 64 GB of internal memory available. The Honor 6 provides only the smaller version.
Who Experience shows stores rather a lot of data on his mobile phone, should buy the 64 GB variant probably essential. Although the memory can be optionally expand via microSD even up to 128 GB. But then the microSD card is inserted in the same slot, which would otherwise take the second SIM card. So not an option for those who want to make calls or surf with your mobile phone on 2 numbers. With 64 GB but you should get along quite relaxed.
21 megapixel resolution provides the main camera on the back of Honor 7. The sensor offers the highest resolution of all dual-SIM phones.Incidentally installed Huawei for the Exmor RS IMX230 image sensor from Sony. Another Besonderheite the back camera is a cover made of sapphire glass.
The light output is also expected to work better than average: The new model has a f2.0 aperture and is located just behind the currently best phones in this discipline, having aperture values of f1.8 recently for the first time.
In addition to the main camera features the new model a mature selfie cam that some main camera of tests exceeds 8 megapixel of 2013, 2014.It has a - good for front cameras - f2.4 aperture.
Both SIM slots to support Cat6 and thus support up to 300 Mbit / s (download) and 50 Mbit / s (upload) according to the manufacturer LTE.However, this presupposes the existence a corresponding LTE tariff, which are often governed in Germany with significantly lower transmission rates. For this, the cell phone can of course not, it's up front with these features in our latest comparison lists.
How to manage a change of SIM card is integrated into the Emotion UI user interface, clears soon our Huawei Honor 7 test. So far, the menu logic convinced, however, the standards are now higher.
As already mentioned you have to do without the use of a second SIM card on a microSD card. A real drawback but can be found in an increasing number of models. After all, you can order a model with 64 GB ROM and compensate for the lack of a separate microSD slots characterized.
When you format requires 2x micro SIM cards.
In times where manufacturers show off with always flatter dimensions or very little weight, the Honor 7 shows unspectacular. Given its size, the display, the 157 grams are acceptable, but no lightweight. With a thickness of 8.5 mm and 14.3 x 7.2 cm height x width it is also in midfield. By comparison, the fee 6 is remarkably flat with 6.5 mm.
The relatively high weight, however, is partly attributable to the high-quality metal housing. The impact on first sight very elegant and is extremely popular, even mid-range mobile phones - such as the Samsung Galaxy A3 Duos (Test) - equipped with high-end materials.
Launch and price
Currently not known yet whether Huawei wants to export the Honor 7 to Europe and especially to Germany. Thus, one can also mention any exact prices, but convert only the sums Huawei calls in China for sale: There will cost the smaller dual SIM variant (16GB) converted more than 300 euros, the 64GB version good 350 euros. When importing the availability dealer additionally transportation and duties should apply - we will deliver exact price as soon as we can link on initial offers.
