The brand maker Gorenje is known for low-cost washing machines and dryers. These are manufactured with great care and all come with a factory warranty for delivery. We have extensively tested a washing machine from Gorenje for you. We have summarized our results for you here. The machine here is freestanding and not underpowering. The dimensions are the standard dimensions for the white goods.  

Delivery and installation

The delivery of the machine is fully assembled. This means that you get your Gorenje washing machine in one package. This contains all parts necessary for the operation of the machine. Nothing has to be attached to the machine. It is sensible to arrange the delivery with a forwarding company which delivers not only free door but to the apartment or even the cellar. The washing machine is correspondingly heavy and therefore can not be worn by one person alone. The construction of the machine is simple. It is designed as a free-standing device and has to be placed in a dry place. Make sure that the machine is straight. Otherwise, unbalance may occur and the machine may be damaged.  

Commissioning

The safety devices must be removed in the machine during the initial start-up. The drum was fixed. Here, adhesive tapes and cardboard boxes are inserted which hold the drum firmly. Please remove these parts completely. A film was also applied to the washing machine door to protect it from scratches. As the machine develops heat, this protective film must also be removed. The same applies to the detergent drawer. This was also fixed with adhesive tape and must be freed from it. After all this has been done, the machine can be connected with electricity and water. After this, a first wash without clothes is done. This is recommended at 90 degrees. This way, the machine is completely cleaned again.  

Laundry programs

The machine has a total of 23 washing programs. These are divided into the usual program with an indication of the degree. Special programs include:

These are not common with many machines and therefore need special mention. The machine is set by a display on the front. This is simple and easy to use. The menu is self-explanatory. Particularly nice is the start time preselection. The machine can thus be set for a time up to 24 hours in advance.  

Centrifugal performance

The centrifugal performance of the Gorenje washing machine can be adjusted. The programs can be assigned in the context of 0/400/600/800/1000/1200 rpm. This means that most typical fabrics are easy to maintain and are optimally prepared for drying. The spinning program is either entered completely with the washing program or can also be selected separately, ie without washing program. Thus also garments which were washed by hand were provided in the machine for the skidding.  

Maintain the machine

The maintenance of the machine is simple. From the outside, the washing machine should always be wiped with a damp cloth. Mild cleaning agents are used here. In this case, the keys of the control panel should always be kept clean so that malfunctions are avoided. The drawer for the detergent must be regularly checked for residues and can be removed separately from the machine. It is best rinsed under running water and can then be reused. The machine itself should be decalcified regularly with chalky water. This keeps the heaters longer and the machine runs smoothly. The door grommets must be searched for foreign objects after each washing operation.
