The El 650 series is a smoke detector, which works according to the photo-optical principle, which is also called the stray light principle. This fulfills the highest technical requirements. The alarm in a smoke alarm is triggered as soon as smoke enters the optical smoke chamber. Subsequently, an alarm with a sound pressure of approximately 85 dB (A) is produced by a piezo-electronic horn. When there is no smoke in the smoke chamber, the smoke alarm will automatically reset, which will switch off the alarm. The El650 is designed for use as stand alone.  

Protection against false alarms

With the help of the pollution compensation, the smoke alarm detector has the capability to adjust the sensitivity of the smoke chamber to the degree of contamination, which considerably reduces the probability of a false alarm.

Functions

During commissioning, an LED indicates that the warning light has been successfully switched on. It then starts into the normal operating mode. Ensuring the ability to function is a high priority. The function of the warning device should be checked after the installation and then again and again at regular intervals. To do this, press the test button until the audible alarm sounds and the red LED flashes rapidly. The battery status of the warning detector is determined by self-monitoring. When the battery voltage drops, the detector emits a beepering sound. The red LED flashes once in 32 seconds. The function of the alarm is also tested automatically. The detector checks the functionality of the smoke chamber every 16 seconds. If this power is restricted, the device beeps once in 32 seconds, which is accompanied by a flashing of the red LED. The combined test / mute button is designed as an easy-press button so that it can be easily reached from the ground with an extension. Just take a broom or umbrella. The volume of the alarm increases slowly in the test mode to the full volume. A brief time after releasing the button the detector deactivates itself again. The Mute button disables a false alarm. The smoke detector function of the alarm is then switched off for 10 minutes. Within this time the red LED flashes once in a time interval of 8 seconds. After 10 minutes, the operating condition is restored.
