By Acer, the Liquid Z500 is another dual SIM smartphone. This mobile phone settles with the price and with the technical equipment in the middle class. Acer brings the model into the German trade and the manufacturer tried to create a chic design. The case has the size 146 times 73 by 8.7 millimeters and the front of the smartphone is optically separated with the silver trim from the removable battery cover. The back has the brushed look and is made of matt plastic. With 5 inches the display diagonal is not very compact. The speakers are aligned to the front and are located below and above the display.The size does not work with one-handed operation. Because the speakers have been easily let into the case, dirt can easily collect in the columns. For the hearing is the sound over the loudspeakers sufficiently loud, however somewhat hollow. The DTS sound can be activated under the settings and the bass can be adjusted. The camera with the mobile phone has 8 megapixels and on the back there is the fast button. This quick button is located below the main camera and it is called AcerRapid. The settings allow you to select which application is opened when the button is pressed. The camera application will open when the button is pressed longer. The Rappid button also allows incoming calls to be accepted, and the touch screen is used to hang up.  

The HD quality at screen resolution

The display with the size of 5 inches provides 720 by 1280 pixels and this corresponds to the HD quality and the pixel density of about 294 ppi. The colors are vividly reproduced and the representation is sharp. Absolutely sufficient is the maximum brightness and it can be adjusted automatically. If the display is tilted, the color reproduction remains largely constant. In the oblique view, only the brightness decreases. The display is relatively strong and the reading is thus made difficult in some situations. With the Acer Liquid Z500 Plus mobile phone, there is as internal memory 16 GB and on the device are still about 12.4 GB free. In addition, a memory card can be inserted via the microSD slot. In the sensors there is the ambient light and proximity sensor as well as the accelerometer.  

The processor and the battery time

The Quad-Core Processor with the designation MediaTek MT6582 provides the performance and this with 2 GB RAM memory and 1.3 GHz clock rate. This is enough for 3D games and multitasking to run. The majority of the application runs smoothly and there are only a few hooks or jerks. In the case of demanding applications, heat generation was also kept within the frame. The battery is 2000 mAh strong and unfortunately tightly installed. The battery can not be removed without further unscrewing. The manufacturer specifies that a charge for up to nine hours of talk time is sufficient. During use, the phone does not fail one day. On the second day the smartphone usually has to be connected to the power source again.  

The 8 megapixel camera

The 8 megapixel camera is located on the back of the case and it provides auto focus and LED flash. The user can select other modes besides the normal shooting mode, including Bright Magic, Best Shot, Beautification, Panorama and HDR. The Aqua, Negative, Sepia and Mono effects are also available. Also available are profiles for the white balance and a timer. The videos can be recorded with 1080p. The test recordings show with LED flash and good light conditions a color-accurate reproduction without color line and clear contours. The camera delivers good shots for this price class. A noise is noticeable when zooming in and when the light conditions are inferior. A maximum of two megapixels are available at the front camera and thus it is well suited for the Videotelefonie. The video recording also works in HD quality.
