Test report: MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL All-season racing

The Michelin CrossClimate in the video

With every season, whether summer or winter comes the time when you have to change your tires. To avoid this in the future, I bought for my car year-round tires. My choice has fallen on the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire. Why it was calculated this year-round tire of MICHELIN, you can see from this experience report.

That's why it was the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire

Good appearance, especially with regard to the profile, good wet adhesion and, of course, also the fuel consumption and the purchase price, were the parameters that mattered when choosing the right all-season tires.Ultimately, all these features have been the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL year-round tires. Proceeded before the purchase, were extensive comparisons of the individual all-season tires. With each comparison I am however again at the MICHELIN all-year-race. That is why I decided to spend this whole year.

Details about the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire

Of course, the technical details of the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire are not unimportant in the case of a tire. When the tire with its rubber mixture falls immediately through its profile. The all-season tire from MICHELIN fulfills the requirements from the wet-grip class A as well as the fuel efficiency class C. Bem The external rolling noise is measured by the year-round tire from MICHELIN at a volume of 69 dB. In color, the all-season strip is held in a black design. To emphasize the technical details for the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-year tire, are certainly still its compact dimensions and the weight. This means that the all-season tire from MICHELIN weighs 8 kg.

Handling and driving

From their appearance and the technical data to the all-season tires of MICHELIN, these make a very good impression. But how good the tires actually are, only the practice had to show. After now several months in the use of all-year tires, I must say they have fully convinced me. Even though I could not test MICHELIN's all-season tire in all weather conditions. Compared to my previous tires, however, the driving performance of the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire has improved significantly. In particular, the steering behavior of the all-season tire from MICHELIN is much simpler, this can be felt correctly in the steering wheel when you turn into a curve. But the better driving behavior is only one aspect that I could make an advantage in the whole-year tire, another advantage has affected the volume, namely the rolling noise. During the ride you hear almost nothing from the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL year-round tires. And that regardless of whether the car was open or not. Here, too, the all-season tires of MICHELIN convinced me completely. Winter conditions, so snow and ice we have not had so far, accordingly I can not make any statements on the driving behavior of the whole-year tires. What we have had, of course, was rain. As described in the technical details of the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tires, they corresponded to the wet grip class A. And in fact, compared to a dry road surface, I could not find any differences. The adhesion on the wet road surface was very good. Only with the rolling noise I would assume a slight increase, but which does not disturb as you have the car in the rain anyway.

Savings potential for the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire

As mentioned in the technical details for the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire, the tire corresponds to the fuel efficiency class C. So far, I have not had much time to start with these fuel classes in relation to tires and therefore also do not make any distinctions. Since I used the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL year-round tire, I could actually see a change in fuel consumption. But not in the negative sense, but exclusively in the positive sense. The fuel consumption probably decreased due to the better driving characteristics of the whole-year tire.Due to the now only short useful life, one will have to see whether the fuel consumption remains permanently reduced. Especially when the profile depth decreases and this also affects the driving behavior of the whole year tires, I consider a higher fuel consumption for quite possible. Regardless, it is of course a nice thing if you have a reduction and can save money.

Easy assembly of all-year tires

The MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire I have assembled immediately after delivery. Installation of all-year tires was very easy. Due to the low weight of only 9 kg and its dimensions, the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire can be handled very well. This of course facilitates assembly, but also the storage of all-year tires considerably.

Conclusion

Conclusion guy After several searches and comparisons with the different all-season tires, my choice has fallen on the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire. The overall package, consisting of the technical details, but also the purchase price convinced me. The all-season tire impresses with its appearance, the compact dimensions and the low weight.Accordingly, the assembly of all-year tires is simple and fast. The MICHELIN all-season tire is certainly characterized by its classifications, such as the wet grip class A and the fuel efficiency class C. The MICHELIN all-season tire is also convincing due to its very easy driving behavior and the only slight rolling noise that occurs during driving. Even in the rain there is no loss in driving behavior. The MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire also reduces fuel consumption thanks to its better driving behavior. Here the question arises whether this remains so permanent. Especially by wear and tear on the profile and the corresponding effects on the driving behavior, one can expect an increase.Rounding off the year round is a good price. All in all, I would recommend the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE XL all-season tire at any time.
