Microsoft is launching the "LifeCam Studio Webcam" for the first time a camera with full HD resolution on the market. So far the limit of Microsoft at 720p-HD-ready. Through the camera, which is pulled far forward over the lens, the camera sends a stray light. Unfortunately, a full-HD Skype conference is not possible. This requires a special video compression that does not support this webcam. Nevertheless, the camera with 720p-HD-ready shows excellent experiences with video chats.This is due to the high-precision lens with included glass elements. No additional driver installation is required. Microsoft gives the buyer a limited warranty of three years on the webcam, which is significantly longer than with conventional webcams.
System requirements for optimal utilization of the extras
This webcam is compatible with Microsoft operating systems only. Starting with Windows 7, a connection with the webcam to the computer is no problem, which makes the camera immediately usable. The software and hardware manufacturer proposes at least one Intel dual core with 1.6 GHz or faster with 1 GB of RAM for normal VGA video calls. If the customer wants to make HD recordings, Microsoft recommends at least one Intel Dual Core, but with 3.0 GHz and at least 2 GB of RAM memory. In addition, sufficient free space would be an advantage as HD recordings require more space than VGA recordings.
