The currently popular category of dual SIM phablets - ie smartphone tablet crossover 5-7 inch screen - receives further growth. This time it is the manufacturer LG that has gone with a new model in Germany at the start: the 5.5 "wide LG G Pro Lite was initially available only in black, but is now also available in a white version.
simply switch SIM card via touch: LG G Pro Lite
Highlight the dual SIM functionality is a separate touch area "map selection", which is housed alongside the usual 3 Android touch buttons below the display. By tapping on "Select Map", you can be as comfortable as any other we have tested to date dual SIM device between SIM1 and SIM2 switch back and forth.
Technically, the phablet is otherwise rather be expected to lower middle class, but at a price of € 300, it should be a realistic option due to its 2-SIM card function for phablet-interested.
The 14-cm screen takes almost borderless almost the entire width of the front of a, well above and below the display, only a narrow range for the housing has remained, at the lower end also directly for the Android Touch functions "Back", "Home "," menu "and the already mentioned special key" card choice "is used. Verschenkter rack is here therefore really existent.
With so much display area however loose even more pixels have a cozy place found: With the qHD resolution of 960 × 540 pixels, the G Pro Lite will impress not really. The resolution is still acceptable, but certainly not a highlight. After all, however, the display offers IPS technology, is therefore also from a wide viewing angle particularly color-stable.
Operating system and "QSlide"
The operating system is indeed suitable for all current apps, but has not any current benefits from the latest versions of Android. Because the LG G Pro Lite and the version Android 4.1.2 is used - for a newly introduced terminal although not a disaster, but something incomprehensible. Most competitors now offer Android 4.2 or sporadically already 4.3 on its dual SIM models.
Consolation is the QSlide function: With this one can be certain apps (but unfortunately not just any Android apps) running in a small separate window which is then transferred to the other screen. A similar function - or even a split screen - already offer indeed already other devices, but it is especially for larger displays a clear advantage. For in as much viewing area is sometimes really practical to run parallel programs and to keep the same time in view. but too power-hungry, these apps should not be, because the contrast is manageable computing power of the device.
Performance and processor
With a dual-core processor, which can show only a lonely gigahertz clock frequency as, traveling the G Pro Lite no trees out. Anyone wishing to use complicated 3D games (eg racing games) or the like, should be in our rather for an alternative among the best available models Cell Test dual sim look.
With 2 speakers, the LG G Pro Lite makes for good sound
Even mobile internet is of course on board, where the limits are reached here also rather quickly: Although at least HSDPA is available, the maximum download speed remains at 7.2 Mbit / s is limited. This is sufficient for many everyday tasks, but other dual SIM models already achieve 42 Mbit / s as a maximum.
thought through touch controls
Not only the SIMs can be changed directly via special touch function, the phablet also responds to more touch commands. So the unit is in standby mode is turned on by two consecutive taps on the screen. To turn it works the same. There is also a so-called Quick button, which opens directly certain (individually adjustable) Apps.
Meanwhile, although not necessarily standard, but it is good form in tablets and phablets: The Stylus. Also the LG G Pro Lite he is on board and disappears after the proven pattern in a corresponding tube within the flat housing.
Update: New test results
With inside-handy 03/2014 Model 3.5 of 5 stars (ie converted 70%) a also a received at Networld 03/2014 "good" without percentage in notebookcheck "good" with 85% and in collective Tip 02 / 2014 even 93.4% as a general description. The high percentages in the last two tests are not quite understandable for us, but everyone puts course worth to other factors and characteristics. Overall, however, demonstrated by the Bank that the G Pro Lite Dual-SIM phablet is an above average - which, unfortunately, is also one of the very few phablets under the Dual SIM devices.
