Why wait for the sun?

Until the freshly filled pool water has reached a pleasant temperature for splashing, some days and nights may pass. If the weather does not play at all, the bathing fun falls completely into the water. This can be really annoying, especially if you have a beautiful new garden swimming pool. There is a pool heating really located. In the following, I report on my experiences with the pool heater of the company Intex.  

Cheaper than expected

When I decided to give me a pool heater, I went from well over 200EUR for such a device. After a short research on the Internet, I came across a model of the manufacturer Intex, which was more than sufficient for my 3 meter diameter pool. To my great surprise, the product was available for just under $ 100. I ordered the Intex pool heater online and got it delivered home a few days later.

The almost 4kg heavy heater is easy to build up. With a power of 3000 watts, it must first be connected to a suitable current source. Subsequently, the plastic pipes, through which the water is pumped to the heating and back, are placed into the already filled pool. The pipes are 1.50 meters long, so I could bridge the distance to the next outlet a good way. Finally, turn on the unit and start heating. Of course, the Intex pool heater is accompanied by a manual so that nothing can go wrong.  

Let run

Now it is time to wait. The pool water is pumped through the pipes inside the heating, where a heating rod is located. The cold water circulates this heating rod, gradually heating it. Afterwards it is transported back to the swimming pool. I quickly learned that the pool water should be kept free from dirt particles, small leaves or the like, since deposits on the heating rod would otherwise form. This influences the longevity of pool heating in the negative. I have also noticed that the water needs heating in spite of heating, in order to be pleasantly warm. In fact, the Intex pool heater works more reliably than the weather and still faster than the sun.  

Supplied equipment

Water temperatures of up to 35 degrees can be achieved with the unit. Of course, you can just keep your foot in the water and turn on the heating after feeling on or off. I have instead made use of the supplied water thermometer. The water pipes were secured with the included hose clamps, the heating turned on and I have the whole thing for a while. When the thermometer showed 30 degrees of water temperature, I simply turned off the heating and made it comfortable in the heated garden pool.  

What should you pay attention to?

When buying the pool heater you should pay attention that the pool is not too big for the heating. In my case, I made the ideal choice. The Intex pool heater is suitable for swimming pools up to 457cm in diameter. My 3 meter pool is much smaller, so it gets warmer faster and can be heated even at cooler outdoor temperatures.
