Test report: Ideal Britta Spaten

The spade "Britta" of the "Ideal" brand is an extremely light tool. If you want to be a little stressful in the gardening and prefer to work with a convenient device, then this spade is a good choice. The "Britta" spiders are produced as "ladybirds" or "light spades". Multifunctional it is in any case and also functions properly when using as a man.

The material

Handle and handle are made of wood, more precisely: ash. This wood is selected according to "Ideal" especially for the production of the spades. The handle comes in T-shape. The spade blade is quite light with the size "0" and both hardened and polished. The leaf passes through a simply riveted, short, fully closed spring in connection with the ash handle.

Shape and dimensions

The stalk is not too short with 85 cm and nevertheless guarantees a light device. The manufacturer makes the size "0" with the spade blade. That is to say, it is 165 mm wide at the upper blade end and 160 mm wide at the lower end. The cut is therefore slightly conical. The upper end of the blade is not rounded with a tritical aid.

Per

- The wood is stable. - The stem is one-piece and not too small. - The blade is not too small and strong and sufficiently sharp. - 10 years warranty on the spade blade.

Contra

- Trit help not available on all versions on the spade blade. - Handle not freely selectable. - riveting is too easy. - Do not use a single unit. - Wood is only conditionally weather-resistant.

Overall impression and experience

All in all, this spade is a good product if you have to occasionally work or want to work in the garden. The way of processing is good. Points like the simple riveting are rather detrimental to the quality. Especially if one digs not only superficially, but would like to dig a field properly, a spade with better riveting or even one piece is recommended. This model is, however, sufficient for simple gardening. Another criticism is the price in view of the riveting and especially with regard to the lack of tritthilfe. The latter would make it much easier to work with the spade and make it much more comfortable. Here, too, one can see that this model is sufficient for occasional gardening. For intensive and continuous digging, "Britta" is rather the wrong partner. This can quickly become unpleasant on the feet. The firmness of the sharpness of the leaf should be praised. Each stitch is clean as the previous one. The leaf does not deform even on occasional bumping on roots, but the spade should not be abused as a hatch, from the consideration of the stalk. For the durability of the blade, however, the manufacturer guarantees with a 10-year guarantee.

Conclusion

Conclusion guyAlthough the spade is in some places in need of improvement, it is really good as a helper to plant flowers in the bed or to weed weed. It is light and not too bulky and a stable tool. Heavy work is rather unacceptable to him - with a view to the processing of the handle - with the longer use having to show the extent to which this device can be expected to be loaded.
