the MPL 1000-30000-10 long LED dive light comes from the House of FOC-TEC, better known as the old TillyTec. The MPL designation stands for modular power light and means that you can combine the modules with each other and so always new features get. sounds exciting and forward-looking, but also expensive. We have tested, so how it is delivered as a body, the dive light. Perhaps, we can test the other modules at any other time.

optics and processing of underwater dive light
In the black-TEC look held is the dive light understated and beautiful. The aluminium housing is equipped with 11 grooves, making it, has a good grip with and without gloves. The processing is clean and the lamp makes a very sturdy impression. The opening of the dive light is secured on the lamp head and three O-rings. At the end of the lamp, a hole is to secure it a spiral cable or the supplied strap. The strap is in itself quite alright, but should be replaced by a spiral cable when you want to appear not only in the local pool. When you're at it, also the acquisition of an arm cuff doesn't hurt.
Commissioning of the torch
the torch is by turning on the lamp head and off. Half a turn is sufficient. There is no more functions, therefore you should refrain from repeated turning.
- The torch is screwed in the head
- the AA batteries are inserted and screwed the lamp back
- by turning is she on and issued
the functions of the dive light
the light cone is moderately bright with 1000 lumens, but have not shined this also. The torch has only one function: 100% luminosity. They can neither dimming, yet it has a strobe-light function.
- 100% luminosity with 1000 lumens
of the operation
by the usage of water is discouraged at this dive light, as it becomes very hot within minutes. I have tested you underwater for a night dive in a nearby Lake. Preparations were not necessary, because the batteries were supplied fully charged and only had to be inserted. This is really a practical aspect. I have can't test the burn time that was specified by the manufacturer with 150 to 250 minutes, full length, because my dive was only an hour, but during this time the dive light by FOC-TEC has become as reliable, handy and easy to use and turns out to be. As all fun modules, such as dimmers, intent of change of etc. al are optional accessories to buy s. The pure torch does, long light what it is -. The underwater world can be unfortunately in quite uninteresting light shine. The light color I have not pleased me. The beam angle of 10 degrees produces a small cone of light, which, however, is sufficient, since the page radiation allows orientation in the dark water. The brightness is sufficient to see everything where the range was too low to me. The ease of use, the optics and the long light duration could convince me. The torch is definitely a high-quality base lamp that could be underwater with the appropriate extensions to the fun factor. If one reads through the list of possible modules that are compatible with the torch of FOC-TEC, considering
possible accessories
right at the next birthday. As an accessory, there is much what might inspire all divers here.
Currently the following modules for the MPL are available, 1000-30000-10 long:
- Front attachment with frosted glass with 46 mm and 60 mm
The front header, which will scatter the light beautifully wide and blur the edges, you can put underwater lamp head and lose even more weight. This tool would be optimal, if one wants to use the diving lamp as a light source for underwater photography.
- tank holder bag
- helmet holder
- universal Goodman
- Goodman 2016
- universal holder
- Videoflexarm
- video arm 12 cm
- video lamp holder
- Cap
- video track 22 cm or 27 cm
- video ball arm
- Video clip
- video lamp holder
- Ball adapter rail
The manufacturer promises to bring out more and more to keep the dive lights always up to date. It is so exciting for FOC-TEC lamps owner.
Conclusion
all in all would liked the FOC-TEC MPL as it is not as a main light, because it is also not a bargain with just under 200 euros. Its great advantage is that she can be jazzed up with many gadgets and also retrofitted. As a body, she is definitely no bad investment. For video recording, I would use another lamp with fluorescent color to halogen lamps can reach and is priced just as expensive. If you are looking for a module torch of a well-known manufacturer, which repeatedly expand and upgrade, this torch is a good choice. As the backup lamp, it would make even a good figure due to their low weight and long lamp life. For use without accessories as main lamp, I would rather recommend other lamp from our dive lights test.
