The Einhell NHH 2100 terrace heater is an excellent alternative for those who need a heater for their patio, but a gas-powered appliance is out of the question. We have tested this Terrassenstrahler by Einhell. The following criteria were important to us: processing, application possibilities, handling, functionality and safety.

The assembly of the radiant heater proceeded fairly quickly and simply. The scope of delivery includes five screws and the Allen screw, so that they must only be tightened. This stainless steel heat radiator is very robust and stable. Two heating rods with cover grilles are included in the delivery. To adjust the heat radiator to the conditions, there are three different stages. The maximum output of the radiant heater is 2100 W. We find the telescopic tube, which is adjustable in height, particularly interesting. This can be extended from 165 cm to 210 cm. This allows the heating element to be optimally adapted to local conditions. In addition, the radiant heater occupies very little space and can therefore be placed anywhere. It can easily be transported and looks very attractive on the terrace.  

Functionality and safety

The radiant heater was used for testing on a terrace. Here he offered sufficient power, so that a barbecue evening despite quite cool weather conditions ran smoothly and none of the present ones began to freeze. According to the manufacturer, the radiant heater may only be used on roofed areas. To be able to work, the heater is connected to a power supply. This makes it a little less flexible when it comes to putting it in the garden at a barbecue party. However, through a thorough preparation and an extension cable, this problem can be easily solved. Another point that struck us was that the radiant heater works silently and odorlessly. Moreover, he is very stable. We also tested the stability in a stronger wind. If it happens to someone that the radiator tip over, an automatic shutdown when tipping over provides additional security. Otherwise, the heater in matters of safety is really recommendable. Children do not reach the switch at all, because it is too high for them. The radiant heater does not waste any energy on the environment, since infrared technology only heats the objects. At the same time, the heating spirals give off a light so that the terrace is also nicely lit.  

Handling and application areas

The handling of the radiant heater is really child-friendly. The heater must only be placed on the desired location and connected to the circuit. The heater is then switched on with the power key and the desired stage is selected. The application range of the Einhell radiant heater NHH 2100 is quite wide. Provided it is a covered area. Since the heater was tested by us on a not too large terrace, we can not confirm the disadvantages mentioned in the various customer reviews. This is because the disadvantage is an insufficient heat production, especially in the area of the feet. Since on the cool evenings is usually worn a footwear and a blanket with the terrace, we find this information as not really relevant.
