Test report: Doro Secure 350 Seniortelefon

A senior telephone represents a telephone, which is aimed at the elderly needs. We have tested the Secure 350 Corded Large Key Phone with manufacturer Doro's Emergency Alarm for you.

Design and equipment

The Doro senior telephone, which has a really appealing design, was noticed first and foremost by the extra large buttons as well as the large display. Thanks to the strong color contrast (black / white), all letters and digits are clearly displayed on the keys as well as on the display. Therefore, there is no problem to read both the respective digits as well as the characters on the display. The phone can be conveniently placed on the table, or mounted on the wall. The phone is ideal for people with limited hearing. In addition to the very loud ringing signal, there is also optical call signaling. Even to people with visual impairment was thought of this phone. The large letters on the display, in which the caller's name is displayed, can be easily read. If the incoming call is one whose phone number is not stored in the phonebook, only the phone number is displayed. The built-in hands-free function allows you to make calls without the handset having to be put into the hand. This means that the owner of the telephone can easily call anywhere in the apartment, because the voice is transmitted loudly enough in both directions. However, this is not recommended in a house with several floors. In addition, it may well be that this function is not sufficient for people with hearing impairment when there is a wall between the speaker and the telephone. Up to 99 phone numbers can be stored in the phone. In addition, the telephone has seven direct dial keys. These are recommended for those numbers that are most frequently chosen. In addition, the call list saves the last 15 incoming and outgoing calls. The phone has two special features, of which we were thrilled. These are the included mobile alarm devices as well as the emergency call button. In this way, even in an emergency situation, the owner of the telephone, regardless of the room in which it is located, has been provided with the necessary assistance. Because the alarm devices are cordless and can be attached comfortably to the arm or neck. If the telephone is not within range, the emergency call can be made by these alarm systems. There is also an emergency call button on the telephone. When the alarm button is held down for more than a second, the emergency call button flashes and a loud beep sounds. This takes 15 seconds, so that the emergency call can be interrupted during this time, even if the emergency button has been pressed. For the past 15 seconds, the phone automatically dials the first stored alarm number. If the call from the emergency contact is not accepted, the telephone dials the next stored number. As soon as the call is accepted, the emergency call, which was recorded by the owner, is automatically played back.

Sound quality

The sound quality of the phone is simply excellent. The volume of the ringtone is very noisy. Namely, it is possible to select the so-called boost function 20dB. However, this function is intended for hearing-impaired people, so that it can be switched on and off as required. Even the texts recorded on the phone for the entries in the integrated phone book are loud and clear.

Usability and price / performance ratio

The phone has some additional features compared to traditional senior phones. However, this does not mean that this makes it more difficult for the elderly. Rather, the whole system of the phone is so well thought out that all functions are easy to understand and child-friendly to use. The phone is due to its price of 113.88 euros rather in the upper price class, but in view of its excellent functionality and the many extras the money really worth it.

Conclusion

Conclusion guyThe Doro Secure 350 Seniortelefon impresses with its outstanding functional quality as well as a whole range of helpful functions. The operation of the telephone is child-friendly and ideally suited for hearing and visually impaired people. This is ensured by the large display and the large keys, of which the letters and the digits can be read easily thanks to the large color contrast. The phone allows you to easily save the most frequently dialed contacts to the phone, which can only be called by pressing the speed dial key. We were particularly impressed by the cordless alarm systems and the emergency call button, which can be life-saving in emergencies. These enable actuation of the alarm systems, which can be easily attached to the arm or neck, if necessary. If the telephone is not within range, the emergency key can be activated quickly and reliably. Otherwise, the phone that is really worth every penny is highly recommended to seniors as well as to people with certain limitations in their daily lives.
