The Canon Selphy CP1200 photo printer is not a direct successor of the CP910, but rather a successor of the Canon CP820. Like its predecessor, the younger model also does not have a WLAN module. It can only be connected via USB port, memory card or PictBridge (direct print). The image data can be transmitted quickly by means of these connection possibilities. The connection of an external hard disk is not possible with the CP1200 photoprinter. All available connections are located on the front side (memory card slot) and on the left side (direct print and USB).

The printer has the dimensions 178 x 135 x 61 mm and can therefore be transported without problems. It has a smooth surface and has a practical flap. Underneath this is the sensitive printing unit. A rechargeable battery is installed on the back of the unit. This can be used for an optional rechargeable battery. Of course, the printer can also be supplied with power via a mains plug. When printing, always ensure that there is sufficient space behind the printer. This is mainly because the paper is ejected on the back of the printer and paper jams can occur.  

High quality printing

The Canon Selphy CP1200 photo printer allows you to print an image with a high-resolution quality at any time. In contrast to an inkjet printer, in a thermal sublimation process, no individual color points are placed on a photographic paper via a special nozzle, but the color pigments are directly applied to the photopaper by a carrier film with the aid of a targeted heat development. This means that the Canon Selphy CP1200 Photoprinter has been printing the paper properly. Three colors are used as well as a special protective layer.  

Advantages of thermal sublimation technology

A great advantage of this practice is that the photos do not require a long drying time. In addition, the prints have a high color depth and color saturation. There is always just as much paint on the film as paper is needed. The color film and the paper are always sold together. A small disadvantage of this process is that the cost of the consumable is somewhat higher. But the expression also has a perfect quality. The materials are available in various image formats and sizes. Some require a special paper cassette.
