A fresh breeze in the office and at home
Heatwaves cooked Germany through, and no breeze to feel far and wide. While children get heat-free and can cool down in the pool, we have to sweat adults in stifling offices. To make it easier, the purchase of a small table fan is a good idea.
Which table fan is suitable for what? Which is best for the office? We have tested the Breeze from Arctic. In this test, you will find all the advantages and disadvantages and product information that you need when deciding for or against the Arctic Breeze.
Packaging and delivery
The Arctic USB table fan in the color German Breeze has been sent to us within three working days. Packed was the fan, made in China, in a stylish carton, which already pointed to the motto Germany.
The package included:
- The table fan
- A USB cable
A usage instruction was not available, only a small description on the product box in 12 different languages. Although the Breeze by Arctic is self-explanatory, but a few safety notes about the risks for long-haired users or children would have been nice.

Equipment of the USB table fan
measurements and weight
The fan has a height of 92 mm and weighs about 256 g. The length of the USB cable is 1.8 m. This makes the small device ideal to stand on the desk.
Power supply
The fan is powered by the USB cable, which can be connected to a laptop, with enough power. This means that you do not have to rely on a rechargeable battery, which is only for a certain time and is less environmentally friendly.
An additional choice between battery and USB operation would have been great however. Another way to power the Breeze is to connect the USB cable to an adapter, which would allow it to be used wherever there is a power outlet.
The technology
The fan reaches a speed of 800 to 1800 rpm (rounds per minute). The air supply can be regulated by an adjustable knob. The table fan does not have a tap switch. It needs a power supply of 5 volts and runs at a voltage of 0.2 ampere.
Flexible neck and firm stand
Thanks to the flexible neck you have the possibility to adjust the fan as it is needed. In addition, it has a stable base, with rubber pads attached, so that the Breeze can not slip.
The price
The Breeze USB table fan from Arctic is in the lower price category with just under 15 euros (as of July 2016).
Optics of the fan
The USB table fan from Arctic is ideal for the workplace because it does not occupy much space and does not interfere with the work. On the stand of the fan, the manufacturer's logo is printed in curving letters.
Since the product is offered in a country expedition, a feature is printed on the respective device which stands for the respective country. In our case this is the German edition, which is why a black Reichsadler on the stand and the three colors of the German flag on the head of the fan are printed.
The fans are available not only in six countries, but also in every conceivable color.

Material and workmanship
The stand of the fan and the seven rotor blades are made of plastic. The flexible neck is made of steel links as well as the underside of the foot. In addition, rubber grommets are attached, which prevent slipping and scratching. The processing is simple, but clean and functional.
Praxistest
With the Arctic USB Desktop Fan, it is now possible for you to keep a cool head even during the summer heat. To sweat at 40 degrees and beautiful weather in the Großraumbüro - is there something worse?
After the Arctic Breeze was unpacked, we noticed that there is no instructions for use or warranty card. On the website, we found out that Arctic has a two-year warranty. We thought this was so disturbing. The technical information about the device is printed on the package in twelve languages.
The USB table fan was only protected with a plastic cover in the box, which was anything but unbreakable. In addition, the cover had become entangled with the carton, making the unpacking more difficult than it should be.
At first glance, the fan looked like a miniature wind turbine. The motif was the Reichsadler and the large printed Artic logo in gray. It is practical that the fan can easily be adjusted in all possible directions through the flexible neck.
The head is aerodynamically shaped and also the corners and edges of the foot are rounded. In the posterior two-thirds of the foot, a narrow part of the plastic was shed on the edge, giving the pedestal a peculiar look. The feel is very simple.
The cable of the fan is very long. If one could now also exchange it, if the cable is damaged once, it would be optimally solved, but it is enough.
The connection of the device went perfectly and was very simple, because we had only the USB plug of the fan to the laptop to connect. Then you only use the small black knob and after a quiet click, the rotor blades set in motion.
In order to increase the speed, you just have to turn it further and to switch it off, you turn back until the click sounds again. The click was not as disturbing, but rather as helpful, since one could be so sure that the fan was really off.
The fan works very well and provides sufficient air movement without blowing any papers from it. It can be used almost anywhere, as it can be connected both to an electrical outlet and to a Powerbank (a portable charger) by means of an adapter. So it can be taken everywhere and is the perfect small companion on hot, windy days.
Another possibility is the cooling of the equipment. The Arctic Breeze can also be used to cool game consoles. For the one a drawback, for the other a practical thing is that the device operates without battery or batteries.
After intensive testing we noticed that the USB table fan of Arctic had already discolored after one day of use on the plastic. The radiant whiteness had probably turned into an unpleasant gray through the fat on our skin.
It is also a pity that this fan is only available in six specific countries.
