Test report: 7 inch HD monitor 600TV IP67 rear view camera
I have a Pössl For6 camper and travel very much. It gives me a piece of freedom and I can go anywhere where I want. Unfortunately, there is always a problem with Städtetouren. The camper is unclear and in order to get a parking space, it is usually necessary that the camper as possible harmlessly in a small space. Since I did not always want to rely on third parties, who had to put me in a parking space, I decided to buy a rear-view camera. After I saw the prices in the various Caravanzubehör magazines, I was but a bit frightened. In the course of further searches on the Internet, I came across Vega Solutions GmbH, a reversing camera system.Since I was very surprised by the price, I ordered them directly via Amazon. A few days later, the system arrived by mail to my home.
The packaging of the system was flawless and solidly packaged. No rattling or hitting in the package. Included in the package was the camera, the 7 inch TFT screen, the matching bracket, a 20 meter long cable, as well as a remote control for the screen and a small installation manual. At first glance, the camera with its metal housing makes a really solid and handsome impression. Also the camera, which is equipped with white LEDs, is robust and is equipped with a protective glass. The cable is equipped with a solid screw cap and thus the camera and the screen can be connected easily and watertight. Furthermore, either a second camera or a DVD player / game console can be connected to the TFT screen. So my children have fun. A look at the installation instructions made clear that the system only requires one power connection and not as with many other systems the camera and the screen a separate power connector. The instructions are written in a comprehensible manner, but you should possibly already familiarize yourself with the matter before.
The first function test
For the first test, I connected the system to a cable on which always runs current. After the system had power, everything went fine. The color display provides a good and smooth image. On the display itself some settings such as cost, brightness and so on can be made. With the camera can be looked about four meters. This means that it can always be parked centimeter-accurate. Using the remote control or the buttons on the screen, the system can be switched on and off, as well as set. Due to the LEDs on the camera, a good image is guaranteed at night.
After the first test I installed the system firmly in the vehicle. I attached the camera next to the third brake light on our For6. Thanks to the long cable, I could hide everything so that no cable in the interior destroys the view. The screen I mounted on the center console above the radio, so I always have an optimal view on the screen. After I had misplaced everything, it went to the connection of the system to the power supply. There are two possibilities.First possibility, the system is connected to the reversing light. In this case, the system starts automatically or manually at the push of a button as soon as the reverse is entered. In the second possibility, the system is connected to a current source at which current flows continuously (eg third brake light). Here, the system is automatically always on and can be used, for example, as a rear-view mirror. No matter which version you choose, with a little technical understanding and research, it is possible to install the system yourself.
The long-term test
About six months ago, I installed the system. I've been covering about 5,000 kilometers. Everything works as on the first day. No matter if rain, dust, snow or ice the camera always delivers a wonderful picture and even on uneven roads everything works without problems.
+ Top price / performance ratio
+ Good workmanship and delivery
+ Long Cable
+ Easy installation
- Poor installation instructions
Those looking for a rear-view camera system, this is the place. You get a really good working system, which can be extended by a second camera, at an unbeatable price. The only drawback is the poor installation instructions, but with some skill and technical understanding, the installation should not be a problem.
