The new Bose SoundTouch 10 can lure with good features, the favorable price and thanks to the update also with the Spotify integration. Networked speakers can play music from hard disks, computers, tablets and smartphones on the network, and there are songs from streaming services like Deezer and Spotify and Internet radio. The dusty and unsorted CD stacks are now a thing of the past. With the SoundTouch models, Bose is one of the strongest competitors of the market leader Sonos. The new little SoundTouch 10 now makes the entry more affordable.Everyone is well networked with Bluetooth and WLAN. Just like the competition models Samsung WAM and Sonos Play1, the Bose SoundTouch 10 is a mono speaker. The model of Bose can easily be accommodated anywhere, because the dimensions are 9 centimeters deep, 14 centimeters width and 20 centimeters height. The equipment is compared to the SoundTouch models of the first generation with Bluetooth. On the box is also the music simply playable from the smartphone. Anyone can listen to music from any streaming service, from YouTube, or from their own collection. The boxes can distribute the music to other SoundTouch devices in the entire house. The associated app for tablets and smartphones can be used to control the volume and music played by a loudspeaker. Apart from the titles stored in the home network, Deezer and Internet radio can also be selected within the app. Spotify is also offered by the app. Spotify can search for playlists, artists, albums and songs with the SoundTouchApp without app changes. As before, anyone can also transfer the music to the SoundTouch speakers from the Spotify app via Spotify Connect. In this variant, there are always the latest and all Spotify functions. According to the manufacturer, FLAC files up to CD resolution can now be played after the update.  

Spotify ReadySet and transmitter buttons

Many people do not want to try an app when they want to listen to music. Bose has remembered the good old radio channels for this case. On the top there are 6 buttons and these can be individually used with internet radio stations. In addition, they can also be used from their own music collection or with playlists of streaming services. While the music is running, you only need to hold down the desired save button for a few seconds and the playlist or the station is already stored. A simple push-button is sufficient for the music start. The function ReadySet of Spotify is added according to Bose with the software update. The Bose transmitter buttons can be used in the Spotify account with playlists. From Bose, the SoundTouch app is somewhat gloomy, but overall clear. The storage buttons are always accessible and are automatically assigned the same on all coupled SoundTouch boxes.  

The space-filling and good sound

The amazing full sound is typical of Bose. The SoundTouch 10 can sound much larger than it really is. Depending on the setup, the bass sounds a bit thick. Bose has placed the sensitive bass control for these cases in the settings of the app. The loudspeaker can thus also run so that the bass is reduced by one step. The loudspeaker for listening is not tragic when the music is not reproduced analytically or particularly brilliantly. The maximum volume is sufficient for this, so that the noisy hood hood inside the kitchen is drowned. It is typical for Bose that the manufacturer places on broadband loudspeakers, where other manufacturers separate the separate bass and tweeter. In the case of the broadband loudspeakers, the entire frequency spectrum is reproduced from bass to treble. Characteristic for the US manufacturer is also the bass amplification the unusually long sound channel.  

The availability and prices

From now on the Bose SoundTouch 10 is available for prices between 170 and 200 Euro. It is available in black and white. All software updates for Spotify ReadySet and Spotify have been released for all sound-touch loudspeakers.
