The Acer Liquid E1 Duo is a smaller brother of Liquid E2 (Test) primarily interesting for beginners who want to use two SIM cards in the same phone on one hand, but on the other hand, also place great emphasis on video and sound. Because most noticeable features of the model are the two large built-in speaker on the back of the device as well as the quite large 4.5 “(14.43 cm) IPS screen with a wide viewing angle.
Speakers and Sound
Acer itself promises “breathtaking cinematic experience” with the Liquid E1. This of course is very full-bodied and and already grasped a little high. Nevertheless, the phone is (especially for the moderate price) a positive surprise. It makes perfect sense of how much sound generated by the two speakers on the back.
The sound is above average clean and clear tired and speaker phone calls. Even at high volumes the quality is right.
Strictly speaking, even to stereo sound. Since the two speakers but are very close to each other, is not a true stereo effect is noticeable – unless you hold the device in about 40-50 cm in front of his face. The sound quality is incidentally supported by DTS (Digital Theater Systems).
Display and Camera
In terms of video, the E1 is also solid, but does not project so out like the sound. The 11.43 cm (4.5 inch) qHD display with IPS technology has a mid-range resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and displays images and videos sharp in bright colors represent.
IPS displays have indeed generally a wide viewing angle, which comes in handy when longer movies See good, where you will, even hold your smartphone on the sofa times, yet from different perspectives have a good view. Außerden it is thus also suitable for common viewing pictures and videos with friends. Full HD as top smartphones of the same display size does not exist, however.
The integrated camera is optimized primarily for speed. First, it has a very low delay time, so that you can take virtually no time lag. Second, the inclusion of fast motion sequences with four, eight or sixteen images in series is possible. Not so impressive, but okay is the resolution (5 megapixels) and the somewhat dark picture voting.
Speed and Performance
For a smooth video display and an otherwise reasonably good pace of 1.0 GHz dual-core processor (Intel Core) provides. One must not forget that there are dealing with a processor that would include an individual SIM phones for lower middle class. Accordingly, the expectations in terms of speed should fail. For complex games, possibly even with 3D elements, the model is not the optimal choice.
But for normal everyday – surfing, calendars, apps, regular games, social networks – enough computing performance from. In addition, communication and multimedia applications to run well at the same time.
Phone & Co with 2 phones: dual SIM functionality
The Acer Liquid E1 Duo has two SIM card slots, so as private and business communications with the same phone you do, but both can be clearly separated. The 2 SIM cards can be personalized with the E1 good manage and adjust individually. The available options are all 4.1 “Settings” menu centrally in Android. You can for example select a card as the default for outgoing calls. However, it is not necessary to repeatedly access this menu, when it comes, with which SIM card you just want to get something done.
About the normal Android status bar (the narrow bar at the top of the screen) and instantly switch between SIM cards. If you want to dial a number, for example, one can briefly pull down the status bar and click on the desired SIM card (SIM1, SIM2). then we choose the phone number, the previously selected card for the phone is used. The contacts of two SIM cards can be easily combined in the integrated phonebook. Both cards have the same way reception until one of the two telephones. For as long as a line “is” is, you can not call on the other SIM even still receive a call (so-called dual-SIM standby).
The SIM slots at regular size are way under the battery cover next to each other and are easy to use (in other phone models, the SIM card slots are sometimes even with each other, which is very “tricky” is).
Undisturbed watch movies: “Float Caller” helps
Not specifically to the handling of 2 SIMs based, but still a nice phone function: With the so-called “Float Caller” display the Liquid provides E1 that incoming calls or messages not playing videos or the use of apps in fullscreen mode interrupt. This is actually Simpelt, but also an extremely good idea. Instead, a pop up with the “Float Caller” message appears. So you can then eg decide whether to answer a call with a short message reply or want to ignore the call.
In addition, the built-in camera has an extremely short shutter time, which images can be taken without delay. It also lets you capture fast movement sequences in series with four, eight or sixteen images.
Acer Cloud: store, share or stream files externally
The smartphone supports the Acer Cloud, the charges are pre-installed on new Acer products. With the Acer Cloud, you can store digital content and recall via different devices, such as photos, songs and documents. Since coming back to the sound aspect to advantage: Because even songs can be about the Acer Cloud from his PC to stream. It is also a “Moodagent” is integrated: this creates personal playlists or selected songs from the library for custom playlists.
Acer Liquid E1: Conclusion
The Liquid E1 is overall quite good dual SIM smartphone at a relatively cheap price, but not a bargain. In our mobile test it lands in midfield. His strengths has it clearly. As multimedia mobile phone, thanks to great stereo speakers and a rich image Those who value 2 SIM cards and often heard as music or movie sound through the built-in phone speaker, can hereby be happy. Somewhat better – and depending on the offer slightly more expensive – but is the already mentioned Liquid E2 from the same manufacturer. This should have a look for comparison before purchase in any case.
There are available for the E1 way two colors available: white ( “Pearl White”) and black ( “carbon black”).
